Pheasants – The season opens on 1st October until 1st February for fresh birds. All our birds are dry plucked and dressed by hand then packed individually on black trays and shrink wrapped. All birds are sourced from local shoots in Dorset. Only the best birds are selected. A small amount of frozen birds are always available.
Partridges – The season opens on 1st September until 1st February for fresh birds. All our birds are dry plucked and dressed by hand the packed in pairs on black trays and shrink wrapped. All birds are sourced from local shoots mainly in Dorset. Only young plump birds are selected. A small number of frozen birds are always available.
Wild Ducks – The season is from 1st September – 31st January . All our birds are from local Dorset shoots many from our own farm shoot. They are all dry plucked and packed individuallyon black trays. Frozen birds are also available.
Grouse – The season opens on 12th August until 10th December. We can buy in fresh birds when available on request but do need ordering 7 days in advance. A small number of frozen birds are sometimes available from stock.
Rabbits – Fresh rabbits are always available as there is no closed season. All rabbits are .22 shot and skinned, then either vacuum packed or packed on black trays and shrink wrapped.
Hares – The season opens on 1st August until 28th February. We only shoot a small number and only if ordered in advance.
Pigeons – Fresh birds are available all the year round as there is no closed season although numbers can be limited in late winter and spring. All birds are sourced from local farms in Dorset. Whole birds are plucked and dressed then packed on black trays in pairs and shrink wrapped. But most birds are plucked then breasted out with the skin on then packed on black trays six breasts per tray.
Venison – All three types of deer found in Dorset are cut and packed during the season. At least one type of deer is available throughout the year. The most common cuts are the fillets, leg steaks and whole joints.
